Deeply concerned by Halifax's announcement that they plan to close their branch in Whitby. I raised Whitby branch closures with directors at Barclays recently and will write to Halifax to object to this decision. Whitby must not become a cash desert and facilities need to be available for the elderly or those who struggle with day to day banking. I will also be asking for more information on the proposed banking hub as we need to make sure any solution caters to those most in need.
