Roberto Weeden-Sanz has been selected to stand as your Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Scarborough and Whitby at the next General Election.
Roberto, whose family have lived in Yorkshire for three generations, spent his career working for a youth charity before moving into finance and has served as a special constable and a local councillor.
Roberto says "I am delighted to have been selected by the membership of Scarborough and Whitby and will build on the work of Sir Robert Goodwill. I look forward to working with all the communities across this fabulous area of North Yorkshire and England’s best coastline.
I will be a champion for our fishing and farming communities to make sure government is on their side. And will continue Sir Robert’s campaign for the A64 to be dualled as well as for improved service on our bus and train routes.
I am looking forward to being a visible voice for Whitby to make sure we secure more funding to benefit the town and ensure it always gets its fair share of investment. And will campaign to continue the regeneration of Scarborough to help it achieve its potential restore it to a place befitting its status as England's first seaside resort. I will work with colleagues on North Yorkshire Council to continue to call for compensation for our fishing community who are suffering after the crustacean die-off. I will never let our coastal communities be forgotten."
