Improving local infrastructure and transport services

I will not give up on the campaign to dual the A64; the current situation is strangling businesses and opportunity in our region. Further delay is unacceptable and I will be pushing the Department of Transport to commit to dualling the A64 to unblock our roads. Now that the Government has taken back control of both Northern and Transpennine services we have a unique opportunity to secure investment in our railway services to provide more regular and reliable services and improve the connectivity in Scarborough and Whitby to York, Middlesbrough and Hull.

I welcome the Government's cap on bus fares at £2 and will campaign for more regular services as waiting times for buses in our towns and villages are far too long.
